The Aliens appeared in Sailor Moon R, season 2.0. Their mission was to collect energy from Earth in order to "feed" the Makaiju (The Doom Tree).

Members of the Aliens: Makaiju (Doom Tree), Al (Alan), An (Anne), and the Cardians.

There is not really any symbol for the Aliens. They only appear in the Anime, and were not part of the Manga version. The Aliens story arc comprised the first 13 episodes of the Sailor Moon R series (Season 2).

The Aliens first appeared in Japanese episode #47 (English episode #41). During the night a light appeared in the sky, and what looked like a meteor fell to the ground and crashed into the middle of a parking lot, in the Juuban section of Tokyo. The "meteor", which created a large crater, was a large green seed like object with veins. It squirmed around, then levitated over to a nearby building, Juuban Odyssey Apartments, and took over an empty apartment on the top floor.

The Cardians are the monsters the Al and An use in order to collect energy. Ann picks from a deck of cards that Al has and then Al plays his flute and calls forth the Cardian. When the Cardians are destroyed the yell out "Crazy!"

Fiore, the villain from the Sailor Moon R Movie, looks very similar to Al and An. However, it is never mentioned whether or not they are related. Fiore also did not appear in the Sailor Moon manga.
