Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Super S, Season 4

Introduction: This was the fourth season of Sailor Moon. This season focused mainly around Rini and Pegasus. The Outer Scouts were not shown at all. The season was very "cutesy," but had interesting villains and music.

Main Characters introduced: Diana (The Cat), and Pegasus/Helios.

Secondary Characters Introduced: Kelly, Mellony (renamed from Melissa), and Elizabeth (renamed from Lizzy)
Villains Introduced: The Dark Moon Circus; Nehellenia, Zirconia, Zircon, Amazoness Quartet (SeleSele, ParaPara, VesuVesu, JunJun), Amazon Trio (Hawk's Eye, Fish Eye, Tiger's Eye), and the Lemures.

Summary: In this season, the villains belong to the Dark Moon Circus. They are led by Queen Nehellenia and their job is to find the Golden Dream Mirror that is hiding Pegasus. During a Lunar Eclipse, the Dark Moon Circus arrives in Tokyo and sets their circus tent up in the middle of the city. Zirconia tells the Amazon Trio to find people with beautiful dreams, because within those dreams, Pegasus will be hiding. Hawk’s Eye decides to target older women, Tiger’s Eye younger women, and Fish Eye chooses men. They attack their targets using Lemures. Then they remove the Dream Mirror and look inside for Pegasus. Meanwhile, Pegasus has been appearing in Rini’s dreams and comes to her aid when she and Sailor Moon are in trouble. He also powers them up. After several unsuccessful attempts to discover the Golden Dream Mirror, Fish Eye targets Darien. Darien refuses Fish Eye’s advances, saying that he loves Serena because she has so many dreams. Fish Eye then realizes that neither she nor the rest of the Trio has any dreams themselves. Depressed, she sits on a bench in the rain, where she is discovered by Serena. Soon Fish Eye discovers that Serena is Sailor Moon and that Pegasus is hiding within Rini’s dreams. Fish Eye stops Hawk’s Eye from attacking Sailor Moon, saying what they are doing is wrong. The Amazoness Quartet then sends in a Lemures to attack the Trio. The Trio gives up their lives to save Sailor Moon. So, in return, Pegasus revives them and gives them dream mirrors.
The next set of villains to attack are the Amazoness Quartet. The Amazoness Quartet attacks many people in search of Pegasus. At one point in time, ParaPara switches Serena’s and Rini’s ages. It is during this time that Pegasus reveals to Rini that he is the protector of the Golden Crystal, Helios, and comes from the land of Elysion. He explains how the Dark Moon Circus wishes to capture him and steal the Golden Crystal. He also tells her that the only way he can survive is through the power of her beautiful dreams. Nehellenia takes over, because Zirconia had been unable to do the job correctly. She removes Rini’s Dream Mirror and discovers it is the Golden Mirror that is hiding Pegasus. The Amazoness Quartet then decides to double-cross Nehellenia and they steal the Golden Crystal, replacing it with a pineapple. They destroy their power balls to free themselves of Nehellenia and then they turn the Crystal over to Sailor Moon, but she is unable to use it alone. Mini Moon then tells her that the combined power of all the people on Earth will destroy the Dark Moon. With the help of the citizens, they all yell, “Moon Crisis Power,” and the Golden Crystal baths the Earth in light, destroying the Dark Moon Circus.
However, Nehellenia survives and takes the unconscious Mini Moon. Sailor Moon follows her and learns about Nehellenia’s past. Nehellenia is very vain and one day an evil entity told her that she would grow old and ugly if she did not steal the Dream Mirrors of others. Promptly, Nehellenia stole the Mirrors of the members of her court, turning them into circus “freaks.” Nehellenia throws Mini Moon over the edge of a cliff and watches Sailor Moon jump after her. Nehellenia then seals herself into a mirror to remain beautiful forever.
As Sailor Moon and Mini Moon are falling, Sailor Moon begs her to wake up. Finally, Mini Moon does and calls out to Pegasus. Pegasus saves them and then says good-bye, as he must return to Elysion to protect beautiful dreams.

Beginning & Ending: This season begins with Rini having a dream in which she encounters Pegasus. Then, while everyone is busy watching the Lunar Eclispse, the Dark Moon Circus arrives in Tokyo and sets up their tent. In the ending, Nehellenia seals herself in a mirror and Pegasus saves Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon before he returns to Eylsion.
